Occupational Therapy
An Occupational Therapist (OT) is a qualified health professional. An OT works with children who have difficulties with the practical skills necessary for their everyday life. An OT aims to enable your child to be as independent as possible with everyday activities at home and nursery/school.
Our OT's are trained to provide specialist assessments and therapy to identify the causes of your child's difficulties and to help your child overcome these to achieve their full potential. Our OT's are trained in various treatment methods, including Sensory Integration.
Occupational Therapy can help with:
- Sensory Processing Difficulties:
- withdraws from touch, or seeks out excessive touch
- poor attention and concentration
- fidgety
- refusal to eat certain foods due to the texture of foods
- oversensitive to certain fabrics and clothing
- will only wear clothes without tags
- dislikes having hands and face dirty
- oversensitivity to sounds and/or makes excessive noise themselves

Online Consultation and Assessment
When you register your child for an Occupational Therapy assessment, your Therapist will discuss with you the best method of assessment, depending on their age and areas of difficulty. These assessments will provide your Therapist with valuable information regarding your child's areas of difficulty.
Follow Up Therapy Sessions
Once your child's specific needs have been identified, an individualised therapy programme will be designed and sent to you for immediate use. This is designed by your qualified Occupational Therapist, based on your child's assessment and additional information you provide when your child starts with us. This gives a one-to-one therapy experience for each child and their family, with access to email and webcam correspondence with an expert Therapist to support you at home.

The Online Therapy Clinic are able to provide a detailed written reports, if requested. These reports are based on online assessments and discussion with parents during the initial online consultation. A written report is optional and will incur an additional cost.
